Your Communicarda Account is FREE and includes one Digital Cards Pack that you can use to create unlimited sessions.

Purchase Participant Passes (PPs) as required

Your free Communicarda Account includes 10 Participant Passes (PPs). When a participant joins one of your sessions to select and share digital cards, one PP is used up from your Communicarda Account.

Once you have used up the PPs in your account, you can still create sessions, but participants cannot join them to activate digital cards on their devices.

You can add PPs to your account anytime by purchasing a Participant Pass Voucher from our online store and redeeming it in your account. Vouchers come in 50, 200, 500 PPs quantities. See: Adding Participant Passes

If you wish to add more Digital Cards Packs to your account, you can purchase these in our online store. Digital Cards Packs are one-time purchase and can be used for an unlimited number of sessions and participants.

Your account will be set up shortly afterwards and you will be sent a notification with your sign-in details. You can begin creating sessions for your participants.

To join a Communicarda session, participants download and install the FREE Communicarda mobile app from Apple or Google Play. 

To join a session, participants simply enter their name and the Session ID provided by the facilitator. If an active session with that ID is found the participant will be joined to the session and a pack of image cards will appear on their device.

No. Participants join a Communicarda session by downloading the free mobile App. The facilitator's Communicarda account will be debited one Participant Pass for each participant who joins a session.

When creating a new session you have the option to set the expiry date for that session. You can have a session run between 1 and 30 days. Up until it expires, a session can be joined by participants.

After this time the session can be repeatedly opened for review and discussion - but participants will no longer be able to join and the digital cards on their mobile device will no longer be accessible (unless a new Session ID is entered).  

No. There is no charge to start a session. If nobody joins the session no Participant Passes are consumed. 

The capacity to easily run a mobile app on Mac or PC is controlled by Apple and Google. Apple does allow an app to be downloaded and run on modern Macs. This is not yet readily available on PCs without third party applications — though it likely will be in the future I expect.

Having said this, we don't recommend it unless absolutely necessary. We very much believe that the participant selection experience is better when they use a mobile device. There is something inherently more personal about holding the pack in your own hands as you explore and think about a topic (even if it’s a digital pack on a mobile). When participating in online sessions, the mobile app provides an opportunity for participants to look away from their screen, sit back, or even go for a quick cuppa, while they take a moment to reflect and select. It is also closer to the traditional, tactile, physical pack experience.

No you don't! If you already have a CCS Cards Virtual Facilitation Environment (CCS VFE) Account, you can use this to sign in to Communicarda with your browser. Your previous VFE account included 3 standard image card packs and they will still be there. Along with any sessions you have previously created.

If you need more PPs, just purchase them in our shop (VFE PPs = Communicarda PPs).

Your VFE Application may still work at present, but will soon be discontinued and no longer supported.
